Phuoc An Port Receives STS and RTG Crane Systems for Phase 2
Phuoc An Port (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) receives 18-row STS quay cranes and RTG gantry cranes, enhancing container handling capacity for the Cai Mep - Thi Vai area.
Phuoc An Port in Ba Ria - Vung Tau has received STS quay cranes and RTG gantry cranes for its Phase 2 expansion. On February 16, 2026, the first STS and RTG cranes arrived; subsequently on April 23, 2026, additional 18-row STS cranes were successfully delivered.
The 18-row STS crane system has a reach of up to 65 meters, sufficient to handle large 20,000+ TEU container vessels increasingly common on international shipping routes through the Cai Mep - Thi Vai area.
Heavy investment in modern handling equipment helps Phuoc An Port enhance competitiveness as the Cai Mep - Thi Vai area attracts increasing numbers of mother vessel routes connecting directly to North America and Europe.
Phase 2 is expected to add 1.5 million TEU/year in handling capacity, reinforcing the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port cluster's position as the premier container gateway in southern Vietnam.
