Long Thanh Airport Opens, Creating Sea-Air Logistics Corridor
Long Thanh International Airport launches commercial operations in June 2026, connecting the southern port system to create a modern sea-air logistics corridor.
Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai — Vietnam's largest transport infrastructure project — officially launches commercial operations in June 2026 with capacity of 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of cargo annually.
A key feature is the Free Trade Zone (FTZ) in Dong Nai spanning over 8,500 hectares, with the logistics hub covering 2,200 hectares, creating an integrated ecosystem seamlessly connecting aviation and maritime logistics.
The Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway (75% complete) directly connects the Cai Mep - Thi Vai port cluster with Long Thanh Airport, creating a sea-air logistics corridor with approximately 60 minutes travel time.
The new logistics corridor will help Vietnam compete directly with international cargo transshipment hubs such as Singapore, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur, particularly in high-value and time-sensitive cargo segments.
